I’m officially in summer mode now.
June is probably my favorite time of summer, apart from late August. You don’t actually melt from the heat yet, but it’s already warm enough in the evening to sit outside and have a rosé with friends.
I’m still not completely sure of summer plans, which is unusual for me, but with planning a wedding and buying our first apartment simultaneously, plans tend to fall apart a little.
But it’s OK, I’ll try to step out of my usual OCD planning mode and just go with the flow.
I’m actually on a self-imposed beauty shopping ban in June. I have to admit, beauty shopping is one area where I miserably fail at minimalism. I try to follow the 1-in, 1-out rule (with alternating success), the problem probably is I have too much to begin with, thus even with this rule, the number remains enormous. So, I’m going drastic here. No look at reviews, sales newsletters, or my favorite beauty blogs. It’s a tactic I recommend for everyone who would like to rein in their spending. It’s a temporary fix of course, but still works until I’m able to introduce some fundamental buying behavior changes.
On the blogfront, I’m planning a ton of summer content for the upcoming weeks. There’s no such thing as overpreparation, right? I’ll go through all summer essentials, from skincare and beauty hacks through summer reads to style essentials and a summer bucket list.
I’m actually quite inspired content-wise recently. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the obligatory social media promotion. I have to keep reminding myself that I need to get myself out more. After all, I’m not writing solely for myself. Yes, I enjoy it, and I also learn a lot, but however cheesy that sounds, I would like if people got some value out of these writings as well.
I love connecting with people, reading and liking their content, but when it comes to advertising mine? Gotta get out of that introvert bubble and take my self-promotion to a higher level.
I’m sure many bloggers would agree that it’s a strange feeling, when you’re creating content and are not completely sure of the reaction that content gets from people. I mean, I kinda see from the analytics that some people read this blog (for which I’m eternally grateful), but still, we mostly have to operate on our inner instincts, hoping for the best.
In the meantime, please tell me about your summer plans! I love hearing about upcoming travel adventures, xx
