“Paris is always a good idea” – states the popular quote and who can argue with that? But for some reason, whenever I think about Paris, I immediately imagine it in a beautiful fall setting (even though I’ve only visited it in May and December previously). Maybe because of a famous Hungarian poem about fall passing through Paris, maybe because the cute cobbled streets, long boulevards, the Seine riverbanks, the café terraces, and the public parks work so well with fall colors of bright yellow, warm orange, and rusty red.
And Paris in the fall was everything I imagined it to be. Granted, we also won the weather lottery with temperature in the high 20 Celsius area, but I’m sure it would have been equally beautiful and enjoyable in a slightly crisper weather.
I know for many October is THE ultimate fall month and November is the bastard child between happy pumpkin season and Christmas, but let’s just try to extend that nice, cozy, fall feeling a little. Keep your fall decoration, take long walks bundled up in cozy knits, drink some extra, steaming hot drinks outside and enjoy November.
